One of my favorite parts about teaching chemistry as part of 9th Grade Physical Science is that all of the topics are all part of a larger story. However, when we are deep into the material for each unit, I expect that many students have a hard time seeing how everything fits into the bigger picture. Because of this, I wanted to help students review for our end of the semester cumulative exam in a way that emphasized the thread connecting the content. This review is split into 4 parts where each section builds off the answers from the previous one. Since it is important that they are using the right values, I have students complete one page at a time and check their answers with a KEY that I have posted somewhere in the room before advancing to the next part. Part 1 - Elements, Atoms, and the Periodic Table
Part 2 - Ionic Bonding and Naming Compounds
Part 3 - Identifying and Predicting Chemical Reactions
Part 4 - Stoichiometry
FilesBelow are the downloadable files for the Bonding & Reactions Review and solutions. Please use and share freely for non-commercial purposes. The editable files are also included. This activity would be really easy to modify by removing a part or two as appropriate for the class. If you have any questions or ideas, leave a comment below :)
